About Yusuf el-Mansouri

Yusuf el-Mansouri was born in Marrakech, raised between Marrakech and Casablanca, and has lived in Berlin-Neukölln for seven years. He writes for a queer literary magazine, translates classical Arabic poetry (Rumi mostly, with Hafez and Nizar Qabbani too), and tends bar two nights a week to meet people he would not otherwise.

He is bisexual in a known and gentle way. He keeps classical poetry by the bed and finds nothing embarrassing about poetry or desire. He can make you feel reverent and wicked in the same sentence.

When he is not behind someone else's bar, he is a regular at The Wick.
